The current situation of the pandemic, has affected a large amount of students, in quality education as the educational institutions are shut around several parts of the world. Though online classes are conducted in various modes, it won't be effective since it won't provide practical knowledge to students. We always believe that people grasp more through visual experiences so the technology called Virtual Reality introduced which helps to experience the world without having its actual existence.

In some parts of the world, they have already started to have the best use of Virtual Reality in their educational system. So, we can say its certainly the future for education.

What is Virtual Reality?

'Virtual Reality' as the name says, it is a technology which creates computer generated three-dimensional images, which looks real when a person views it using a special electronic device known as VR headset and its compatible applications.

Why prefer VR to traditional educational systems?
  1. According to research by Adobe, students can learn concepts by living it through VR system of education. The 'living' through the concepts is not possible in traditional systems as the students might feel easily bored by lectures and theories.
  2. Educational institutions can create virtual labs for school kids to get better practical knowledge on the subject taught. In traditional systems this cannot be achieved as the students do not get much exposure to the topics discussed in the subject.
  3. Visualization of concepts makes the students to clearly understand and memorize than listening to them. Hence, greater result percentage for institutions can be achieved through VR than traditional system.
  4. If there is a sudden change in education system for that particular academic year then, teachers can be trained with new concepts more creatively by using VR devices rather than offline training.
  5. Digital classroom sessions: either students or teacher can record the classroom sessions so that it will help students to not miss any concept by chance. In traditional system, students might miss certain classroom sessions due to their absence for a particular time period.
  6. Vast learning opportunities to students from VR education.
Ways in which Virtual Reality can be implemented in education:
  1. Learning world history topics.
  2. Learning Geographical concepts such as maps, political insights of a particular region.
  3. Learning Scientific concepts such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Electronics.
  4. In medical sector for learning advanced biology such as anatomy.
  5. For farming education.
  6. Virtual campus or industrial visits.
  7. Game based learning for mathematics.
  8. Architecture and designs for engineers.
  9. Personality and communication skills development trainings.
  10. Language learning.
Countries where VR education is already in use:
  1. USA
  2. France
  3. China
  4. UAE
